Small Changes Make a Big Difference!
Sometimes it’s the little things you do that make the biggest impact.  During this session I will share some of the little changes I have made over the years that have made the biggest difference for me and for my students.  Session will be interactive, and participants will be encouraged to share ideas they find useful for making a difference in their own classrooms. Topics covered will be daily chores made simple, keeping up with student work, and daily routines for building relationships. Participants will learn and share ideas for making a difference in their classrooms and will leave with ideas to try and templates for organizational documents they can use immediately.

Diverse YA Books for Diverse YA Readers
All six high school librarians will book talk books that cover every imaginable diversity group on our campuses. The goal is to help our fellow educators have great recommendations at their fingertips so that we can all reach more learners with more titles that touch their lives, and help our learners through whatever puts them outside the mainstream. We will provide take-away lists of YA books that meet the needs of these special populations, in addition to those we book-talk throughout the session.

The Active Classroom
The average high school student sits in their classes for approximately seven hours a day, despite all evidence that their attention spans are no more than 15 - 20 minutes at a time at best. Let's get our kids to move - while still keeping them on task and focused. Participants will leave with immediately implementable ideas on how to incorporate movement into their classes. Some activities will need a little bit of prep while others will need none at all.
