Brave Teaching- building emotionally-resilient students
As teachers, we have seen behavior problems increase while our ability to feel equipped to handle them has decreased. Through Brave Teaching, we have learned specific skills to help our students feel empowered to take on their own issues. Kids today need to be taught skills to develop their emotional-resiliency. In this session, we will learn how to handle difficult situations without taking it personal,  break down what the classroom container is, and specific strategies to take back and implement in our classrooms immediately.  These skills and strategies can be used K-12 and with administrators as well.  Participants will learn strategies to help with classroom management, equipping students to take problems head on, and stop taking classroom disruptions personal.

Sketchnotes to grow your brain
What if one tiny adjustment to the way you take in information and retain it could result in a 55% increase in recall of that information? What if that same adjustment could result in increased engagement and understanding  for any age and any content? Join us to learn from experts like Mike Rohde, Tanny McGregor, and Wendy Pillars on how Sketchnoting can transcend any age and content to help you "plug in", engage, and retain more information and the research behind it. These techniques are quick to apply and easy to use even if you insist you are not an artist and "can't draw". Sketchnoting will not only help YOU get more out of any meeting you attend, but it will also help your students retain more information and increase engagement. Come get your sketch on!
