The audience will engage in different vocabulary techniques that get the students up out of their chair (walking), communicating with each other (talking), and showing off their artistic ability (drawing). These strategies move students beyond copying down the definition to allow a more application and connection of the content words. Participants will model different instructional strategies that allow students to better comprehend and remember the vocabulary associated with the content. They will act out, practice, and discuss these strategies during the session for a better understanding on how to implement them in their classroom.
