Reading for Meaning for Mathematics Problem-solving is to incorporate successful students in understanding to read rich text in mathematical word problems. Teachers will learn how to help all students develop a strategic approach to mathematical reading without taking valuable focus away from the content itself. The session will focus on critical questions and teach students to slow down their thinking, form and support hypotheses, and explain their interpretation using evidence. Mathematical Goal: We will increase and incorporate reading comprehension strategies to allow students to be proficient and successful in mathematics problem-solving with the use of collecting evidence.
